LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, SOUTH CAROLINA: Pastor John-Paul Miller broke the terrible news to his shocked congregation that his "energetic, faithful, and loving" wife had killed herself over the weekend.

Mica Miller was discovered dead on Saturday, April 27, in Lumber River State Park, South Carolina, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Let's examine the timeline of events concerning the pastor's wife who was depicted as mentally ill at the time of her death.

John-Paul Miller believes 'divorce is wrong'

Pastor John-Paul delivered a sermon on February 4 about Moses and the Torah, as well as the wisdom of not standing up to religious authorities. John-Paul then filed for spousal support on February 23.

On February 25, John-Paul said a person suffering from mental illness is unaware that they are ill.

“You have to trust people around you. The thing that’s sick is your mind and your mind is what you need to realize that you’re sick,” he said according to a tweet on platform X.

On March 10, during his sermon, John-Paul disclosed that he read through his wife's phone messages for the previous two years. He discovered that eighteen people had contacted her, offering to keep their conversations about her husband private. The pastor continued, clearly agitated, "That's a demon talking."

On the same day he stated, “One thing I’m going to preach about is gettin’ rich, strong, healthy, and finding a hot wife that loves Jesus,” with his wedding ring on.

Paul later informed his audience that his wife was hospitalized and that she left him as soon as she was discharged, "She gets out and she just leaves. Just completely leaves me. Leaves everything, drains the bank account and just goes. Guess what? While you’re talking bad about me out there I’m building a school in Africa for over a hundred kids to be able to be fed.”

Pastor John-Pauls requested for spousal support to be dismissed on March 12. There’s no explanation as to why he did so.

On March 17, the pastor hired a third party organization to locate his wife.

Divorce papers were drawn up as soon as he located her. When it came to sign the papers, the pastor was unable to do so because, according to the Bible, "divorce is wrong" and she would have to leave him if she wanted out.

Mica Miller shared she was 'going through a lot' via her FB posts

Sierra Francis, Mica Miller's sister, wrote on Facebook that she constantly monitors her phone "for fear of my sister's safety due to others' behaviors toward her." She continued by bringing up the sermon from March 17 and criticizing the Solid Rock Church members.

On March 19, Mica posted a video encouraging others. She said, “I’m just making sure my heart doesn’t have any unforgivness, bitterness, resentment… Just forgiveness and hope for the future… and peace.” She even revealed that she's "going through a lot."

Mica posted another video on March 22, suggesting she was being abused physically and mentally. She also says, “God hates divorce. But how does God feel about abuse?” She also suggests her husband forced her to take illegal drugs.

Mica filed for spousal support on April 16.

A hearing notice was sent out regarding Mica's request on April 23. A June 5 court date was scheduled. On April 27, Mica Miller's body was discovered with a gunshot wound.

On 28 April, John-Paul at the conclusion of the service informed his congregation that his wife had died and that her death was "self-inflicted." He also talked about her mental health condition to the assembly.

Sierra Francis, Mica's sister, wrote on Facebook again on April 28, stating, "Don't listen to the false stories being told about her (Mica)."

On May 2, pastor John-Paul Miller stated, "She was probably the greatest wife anyone could ask for," in an interview. He additionally brought up her mental illness.

On May 5, memorial service was held at Mica Miller's former church, where she was buried. The event praised Mica's blessings and invited supporters to sponsor a child in Africa. A "Justice for Mica" rally was held at the church to raise awareness about her struggles.

The cause of death is unknown. She is survived by her husband, siblings and five stepchildren.
